How to delete your Glassdoor account and data

Glassdoor holds your reviews, salary reports, and job applications. It's owned by the same company as Indeed and the logins can be linked, which confuses a lot of people. Deleting your Indeed account does not delete Glassdoor.

Quick answer

Sign in, open Settings from the account menu, scroll to the bottom, and click Deactivate Account. Then submit a deletion request through Glassdoor's privacy request tool, linked from its privacy policy, to have your data removed. Glassdoor says it processes requests within about 30 days.

Step 1: Close your account

  1. Sign in and click your account icon in the top corner.
  2. Choose Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click Deactivate Account.
  3. Sign in again when asked and confirm. The confirmation covers your account and the contributions you've made.

Step 2: Request deletion of your data

Closing the account is only the first step. Use Glassdoor's privacy request tool, linked from its privacy policy, to ask for your data to be deleted. You can request a copy at the same time. Confirm through the email Glassdoor sends you.

Glassdoor and Indeed

Indeed says that if your accounts are linked, deleting your Indeed account ends the shared login but leaves your Glassdoor account in place. To remove everything, delete both. See how to delete your Indeed data.

After deleting, check whether any reviews or salary reports you posted are still visible.

Your legal right to deletion

If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, or Oregon, Glassdoor generally has to honor your deletion request and respond within the deadline your state sets. See what your state's law requires.

Glassdoor is probably not the only one

Most people have dozens of companies holding their information, from old shopping accounts to apps they've forgotten. DataTrail scans your inbox (read-only) to find them all, flags the ones with data breaches, and writes the deletion requests for you.
