Quick answer
Cancel any subscription first, through Tinder or your Apple or Google account. Then go to Profile > Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. Tinder keeps profile data for a 90-day safety period before purging it.
Step 1: Cancel your subscription
Tinder says deleting your account won't cancel an active subscription. If you subscribed through the iPhone or Android app, cancel it in your Apple or Google account subscriptions.
Step 2: Download your data (optional)
Once your account is deleted you can't download your data, so request a copy first if you want one.
Step 3: Delete your account
- In the app or on tinder.com, tap your profile icon and open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account, then confirm.
You can also use Tinder's Manage My Account tool on the web, sign in, and choose Delete Account.
What happens next
Tinder keeps profile data for a 90-day safety retention window to investigate harmful activity, then purges it. Matches, messages, and photos are deleted under its privacy policy. Tinder is owned by Match Group, which also runs Match and Hinge; each account is deleted separately. See how to delete Match.
Your legal right to deletion
If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Minnesota, or Oregon, Tinder generally has to honor your deletion request and respond within the deadline your state sets. See what your state's law requires.
Tinder is probably not the only one
Most people have dozens of companies holding their information, from old shopping accounts to apps they've forgotten. DataTrail scans your inbox (read-only) to find them all, flags the ones with data breaches, and writes the deletion requests for you.
